Students Give Forward to the Physical Therapy Profession

The Marquette Challenge is a grassroots, student-led fundraising effort that supports the mission of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research
(FPTR). Each year, hundreds of physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) students, with the support of their program directors and community, hold fundraising events across the United States.

COVID-Related Changes for a Decades-Long Tradition

Over the past 30 years, more than 300 schools and thousands of PT and PTA students have participated in the Marquette Challenge, raising more than $4.3 million for research. The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research depends on these funds to award grants, scholarships, and fellowships. Today, our student fundraisers are more important to our mission than ever. Though this year will be different, we’ll get through this and we’ll do it together.

  • Due to the COVID 19 crisis, the 2019-2020 VCU-Marquette Challenge was suspended and no winners were announced.

  • All donations received by the May 31, 2020 deadline will be added toward school totals for the 2020-2021 VCU-Marquette Challenge.

  • The 2020-2021 VCU-Marquette Challenge will launch in Fall 2020.
