Future PTs and PTAs give forward to their future profession trough student-led VCU-Marquette Challenge

PT and PTA students have once again helped close out another successful VCU-Marquette Challenge to benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. Hundreds of students at 79 schools participated this year. The top 3 schools (listed alphabetically) are the University of Delaware, the University of Miami, and Virginia Commonwealth University. The school that raised the most funds this year will earn co-host naming rights for the upcoming 2022-2023 Challenge.

Since 1989, students have hosted events all over the country in support of their future profession, raising millions to support research. Research guides how PTs and PTAs deliver care, how students learn, and how professionals are paid for services. In the past 32 years, students have made a big difference in sowing the seeds for critically needed physical therapy research.

In celebration of these student fundraisers and the faculty who support their efforts, we’re hosting an awards ceremony on June 27 at 8 p.m. ET. RSVP today to attend this event. Our host for the evening is FPTR trustee and PT Pintcast podcaster Jimmy McKay, PT, DPT. Special guests will be there, including researchers who began their careers with FPTR funding and APTA student leaders.
