Marquette Challenge Adopts New Calendar Year Format

Date: September 2, 2024

As the academic year begins for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students across the country, we are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for the Foundation’s Marquette Challenge. Beginning with the 2025 Challenge, we are shifting from an academic year format to a calendar year format. The upcoming Challenge will be known as the 2025 VCU-Marquette Challenge and will last until December 11, 2025.

This new timing better aligns with the annual Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), allowing us to kick off the Challenge and recognize participants in-person. The 2025 winners will be celebrated during CSM 2026, with awards presented live! The calendar year format provides participating schools with additional time to plan, organize, and host their fundraising events, fostering greater awareness, engagement and creativity. After the conclusion of each Challenge, the Foundation team will also travel to the winning school for an additional in-person celebration.

We extend our gratitude to all the participating schools and eagerly anticipate the exciting fundraising initiatives that will unfold over the next year.

For more information about the Challenge or how to get involved, please visit www.marquettechallenge.com or contact Ashley Brinkley at ashleybrinkley@foundation4pt.org.

Important Note: All donations received after the most recent 2023-2024 VCU-Marquette Challenge April deadline will count towards the 2025 VCU-Marquette Challenge. All subsequent challenges will run from January – December.

About the Marquette Challenge: The Marquette Challenge is a student-led fundraiser that supports the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. Since its inception, the Challenge has raised over $4.8 million to fund physical therapy research, helping to advance the profession and improve patient outcomes. The Foundation would like to thank and recognize students from Marquette University for their contribution of $20,000 to support the 2023-2024 VCU-Challenge. Marquette students assist with organizing the overall Challenge, but do not participate in the competition itself.
